Invitation to the URBIS Dialogues - Webinar 2: Invasive Alien Species Management 13 June, 2013

Dear colleagues, partners and friends.

Invasive alien species (IAS) are a pervasive force in cities around
the world, an endless headache for biodiversity managers on the
ground and cost billions of Euros worth of damage each year.
These problem species wreak havoc with ecosystems and are one
of the main drivers of biodiversity loss worldwide, with their effects
only expected to worsen with predicted climate change

Action must be taken, but how do we deal with IAS and mitigate
their detrimental effects in the face of oncoming environmental
To strengthen exchange of knowledge and take action towards
eradicating IAS in cities, the IUCN in collaboration with ICLEI and
